What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a Director of English to provide exceptional leadership of this important area of our work across our Trust; in particular across our secondary schools.

This is an exciting, first-time post and the successful candidate will work with SLT, Heads of Department and their teams in our secondary schools to build on the Trust’s quality of teaching and learning, agree on best practices and then work together to make our approaches world class.

We’re looking for a high calibre, high performing Director of English, with an impressive track record of improving outcomes for pupils, ideally across multiple schools. Your leadership will ensure that our pupils experience educational excellence every day, that there is inspiring and impactful teaching and learning in every classroom, and that each one of our pupils can achieve exceptional outcomes.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of School Improvement, and will be a key member of the Trust’s successful and committed School Improvement Team, which comprises professionals with experience in SEND, safeguarding, personal development, and attendance.

This role would be ideal for an experienced, credible and inspiring Head of English who has a great track record and the drive and determination to lead improvements across our small but growing Trust.

Please call Zoe French on 01904 806456, or email z.french@southbanktrust.co.uk to arrange an informal conversation with Clair Kitchen, Director of School Improvement, to discuss the role in more detail.
