What skills and experience we're looking for
- Passionate about Food technology and a willingness to impart that passion onto the students
- Ensuring all KS3 Food projects meet the national curriculum framework for Food Technology
- Create and share Food resources with the rest of the department
- Provide an in-house department training for delivering Food Technology courses
- Be able to teach all specialisms across KS3 (Food, Textiles, Product Design, ICT) from established schemes of work
- Experienced at delivering KS4 specifications in GCSE Food and nutrition

Further details about the role
We wish to appoint a Director Learning for Food and Nutrition with department leadership responsibilities (2nd I/C in the Design and Technology Department)) for the development and implementation of the Food and Nutrition curriculum across all key stages. A willingness to teach Textiles and Product design would also be desirable but not essential.
Design Technology is taught across all key stages at Hugh Christie with students specializing at Key stage 4. Subjects we currently offer include GCSE Product Design, Textiles and Food Technology, We also offer A-level in Product Design, Fashion and an offer of Food technology. An ability to teach up to KS5 in Food technology would be highly beneficial but not essential.

Hugh Christie is a mixed wide ability 11 to 18 high school based in Tonbridge, Kent.
Hugh Christie is ‘the place to be’ happy, successful and where pupils are well prepared for adult life.
Hugh Christie is a good school (OfSTED 2018) with a stable and well-motivated staff. Staff are supported well through a bespoke INSET programme led by our Lead Practioner Group.
Staff are encouraged to progress with most of the Senior Leadership Team being former middle leaders in the school.
The school finishes at 1-30pm on a Friday and has a two week holiday at the end of Term 1 to promote staff wellbeing.
Our school is based on an attractive campus with excellent facilities.
