The Opportunity?
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, talented and inspiring Director of Learning for the Maths, Computing and Business Faculty. Following a College reorganisation, you will join a newly formed Maths, Computing & Business Team and will benefit from leading a new faculty who are keen to work collaboratively to promote and build on existing strengths.
The successful candidate will have a mathematics specialist background and will provide professional leadership to curriculum leaders in the faculty. This is an exciting time to join the college to have a positive impact on curriculum, teaching and in driving positive outcomes for students.
You will work closely with the vice principal for curriculum, staff development and standards to contribute to the strategic direction for this area and is a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to develop leadership experience across multiple curriculum areas.

Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises of two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth; Beyton Campus is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13. Both locations provide an exciting, dynamic learning environment, where students display a positive attitude to learning and make good progress.
