Wildern Secondary School is a large secondary school in Hedge End, Southampton and we are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, creative Director of Learning - Science to join our Science Department. We are part of the Wildern Academy Trust which comprises of Wildern School, Deer Park Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School.

- Protected non-teaching time for Leadership and Management role
- A dedicated Core Progress assistant who works solely within the Science department to support students and staff.
- A dedicated team of 5 technicians who work collaboratively within the department to ensure students are able to experience a vast range of science practical lessons.
- 16 science laboratories, allowing teachers to have their own classroom, allowing staff a dedicated space as well as continuity with their classes.
- Science teachers teach across all disciplines, across a range of year groups and abilities.
- 3 year KS4 that follows the AQA exam, where students either study Separate or Combined Science.

- A thoroughly planned and resourced curriculum across all year groups which builds a coherent and robust ‘5 year journey’ across the time students spend with us here at Wildern.
- The department runs a huge range of enrichment opportunities for students which you can get involved in, including; Legoland, Kew Gardens and even a trip to Belgium Euro Space Centre.
- Opportunities to shape and contribute to our curriculum which we evaluate and reflect on continually as a team.
