The Deepings School is an 11 – 18 mixed comprehensive with the full ability range. We are a popular school with over 1300 students, including the Sixth Form, with 170 members of staff. The roll is stable with our current PAN set at 261 for each year group. Significant investment in accommodation has been made over the past few years with new buildings for the Sixth Form, Science and Design & Technology.
The school is a member of Anthem Schools Trust, a group of 16 primary and secondary schools in the East Midlands, London and the Thames Valley.
The Deepings School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) operates from the site, bringing many benefits to our students, staff and wider community.
THE COUNTY
Lincolnshire is a rural county offering the beauty of the Wolds, the coast, the city of Lincoln and the glory of historic Stamford. On the southern border of the county, the school is only 15 minutes drive from the cathedral city of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and close to borders with Rutland, Northamptonshire. Travel links are good with the East Coast Mainline offering a 50-minute rail journey to the theatres and shops of London.
Located on the border with Cambridgeshire, the Deepings is an amalgamation of two villages, Market Deeping and Deeping St James. With growth in the past few years the current population is around 21,000, with The Deepings still retaining its ‘village feel’. Children from several surrounding villages and towns make up our traditional catchment. Housing is affordable and the nearby towns of Stamford, Spalding and Bourne provide attractive alternatives. The Deepings is also lucky to have four excellent Primary Schools, a very modern Health Centre, the usual array of sporting clubs and a Leisure Centre adjacent to the school.
