Director of Music job summary
The University of Kent Academies Trust would like to welcome a Director of Music to our community. This is a full time and permanent appointment for September 2021.
The successful applicant will be an experienced and qualified teacher with the charisma and experience to lead their department to new heights. Our Director of Music will have Trust-wide responsibility for the Music curriculum and development in our two schools, Chatham Grammar and Brompton Academy and will also have line management oversight of performing arts at Chatham Grammar. They will be proficient in at least one instrument and will have experience of offering enrichment activities within the arts, such as band, orchestra or choir.
Music and Performing Arts is a small but growing concern at Chatham Grammar, and whilst we currently offer many performance and participation opportunities for our students, we are looking for a Director of Music who can take this to the next level and will have proven strategies for doing so. Our new colleague will have experience of successfully managing a team and will be able to inspire and lead them to further success. This role will be attractive to candidates who are currently a Subject Leader or Head of Department who are seeking opportunities to work on a Trust-wide basis in collaboration with colleagues in two different settings.
