What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you an ambitious leader with a proven track record of delivering sustained and measurable school improvement?
We are seeking to appoint a Director of School Improvement who will work alongside the CEO, Director of Education and school leaders promoting excellence in all aspects of our work. You will be part of the development and implementation of Trust-wide strategies and will work directly with school leaders, balancing quality assurance, coaching and professional development, to maximise the performance and educational outcomes of our academies.
Enhance Academy Trust is a successful and growing Church of England Multi-Academy Trust which provides a home for both Church schools and Community schools. The Trust currently comprises of thirteen Primary schools and a Post 16 Creative and Performing Arts free school based in West Yorkshire. We will welcome another three primary schools into the Trust from September 2025 taking us to seventeen schools.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to provide strategic leadership, with a background in school leadership, a Trust, or Ofsted. You will need to evidence significant personal impact and credibility.
You will demonstrate confident personal behaviour and be comfortable establishing relationships at pace with all stakeholders and local and regional partners. Your leadership credibility will allow you to hit the ground running with experienced education professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence the lives of over four thousand children, young people and their families.
Significant experience of successfully implementing strategies to improve standards and performance is essential for this role. You will demonstrate leadership qualities that inspire, motivate and drive forward individuals and teams to be highly successful.
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver the strategic vision for education within Enhance and promote this to colleagues, pupils and our wider communities
- Demonstrate evidence of a strong track record of working across schools ideally as an HMI, OI, LLE or NLE as well as a Headteacher
- Have a sound understanding of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework
- Use a range of evidence and knowledge to provide accurate, insightful and professional advice to school leaders
- Prepare and deliver professional development for colleagues across the Trust
- Be an individual who can develop effective relationships and get the best from others, expertly balancing quality assurance, support and challenge

Enhance Academy Trust is a Church of England Multi-Academy Trust comprising of thirteen primary schools located across Wakefield and Kirklees and a post 16 performing arts free school.
