Director of School Improvement job summary

The Director of School Improvement is an exciting new role of significant importance in supporting us to realise our mission and vision. St John the Baptist Catholic Multi Academy Trust is a family of eleven Catholic schools committed to providing an exceptional education within a Christian environment, so that all pupils can thrive and embrace all possibilities. The Directors of the St John the Baptist Catholic Multi-Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an exceptional educational leader, who is committed to supporting all our schools (both Primary and Secondary) to achieve the best personal and educational outcomes for every child in every school in our Trust.

This role will involve identifying and building upon the best practice in our schools through our culture of careful implementation, purposeful collaboration and people growth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in wider school improvement, enhancing educational standards and driving strategic development.

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate the confidence, vision and skills to lead, inspire and influence positive change across multiple settings;

Be passionate and deeply committed to fostering safe, inclusive and positive learning environments where every child can embrace all possibilities and truly flourish;

Be an outstanding strategic leader, with a visionary approach to school improvement, with the ability to translate ideas into practical outcomes;

Be committed to ensuring the development and progression of staff and leaders of the future;

Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and promote the Trust’s vision for inclusion;

Be able to work collaboratively within our multi-academy trust, sharing best practices and contributing to the common good;

Play a full part in the life of the Trust, fostering and upholding the distinctive Catholic ethos and values of the schools and the Trust.
