We are looking to appoint a Director of Science to join us at an exciting time as Hampton Gardens continues its journey to become an outstanding school. It is likely that you already hold a position of responsibility within your department and are ready to make the move to into a role with additional leadership responsibilities. We are looking to appoint the best person for this position; therefore, the exact areas of additional responsibility will be open for negotiation.

The role of the Science Department is to work hard to ensure that all students feel safe, secure in their learning striving to achieve academic excellence. The ethos is such that there is a continuous drive for improvement and as a result we continuously evaluate and develop our provision. The team currently consists of a Head of Biology, Head of Physics and Head of Chemistry. In addition, there are 6 teaching members of staff and 3 Science Technicians. Hampton Gardens provides state of the art facilities for staff to refine and enhance their practice whilst delivering an outstanding Science curriculum.

The Department has developed the Key Stage 3 curriculum to develop and prepare students for the Key Stage 4 Science options. We currently offer AQA GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy), AQA GCSE Physics, AQA GCSE Biology and AQA GCSE Chemistry. At Key Stage 5 we currently run OCR A Level Physics, OCR A Level Biology and OCR A Level Chemistry.

Hampton Gardens is an 11-19 free school which opened in September 2017 to an initial intake of 180 Year 7 students. When full, the school will accommodate 1200 students in years 7-11 and 300 students in Sixth Form.

Hampton Gardens is part of the Hampton Academies Trust who also run the highly successful and popular Hampton College all-through school, Hampton Lakes Primary School and Dogsthorpe Infant School. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.
