Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is a school that believes that providing the best educational experience for students requires us to give our staff the time and resources to make a difference. Allocated time for a standard scale teacher is therefore usually about 80% (40 out of 50 lessons per fortnight). Director of Science job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Director of Science to take responsibility for the teaching and learning in our Science Faculty. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are very strong subjects in the school and are in high demand at A-Level within the Sixth Form.
PURPOSE OF POST
• Provide strategic leadership for Science, driving forward and ensuring the highest possible standards of student achievement, attainment and personal development
• Take a lead role in creating opportunities and developing cross-curricular work to inspire our students and contribute to whole-school literacy.

1. Strategic Direction and Development of Science at all Key Stages
2. Teaching and Learning in Science
3. Leading and Managing Staff
4. Student Progress and Standards of Attainment within Science
5. The Efficient and Effective Deployment of Staff and Resources
6. Other Specific Duties
