Director of Sixth Form - Harrogate Grammar
Following an internal promotion of the current postholder to Headteacher, Red Kite Learning Trust is seeking to recruit a talented, committed and inspiring teacher and leader to the role of Director of Sixth Form at Harrogate Grammar School.
Harrogate Grammar School is an ambitious, high-achieving, 11-18 mixed comprehensive academy with the full ability range of students. We have a large Sixth Form with over 580 students and have an impressive track record in providing all students with the highest quality of experience and in teaching for success in numerous Advanced Level subjects. The Sixth Form has consistently achieved excellent results with 61% of grades at A*-B in 2018, making Harrogate Grammar School one of the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country and top performing comprehensive Sixth Forms in North Yorkshire.
Working with a dedicated and motivated Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Sixth Form will provide effective and inspiring leadership for a committed Sixth Form Team. The post holder will contribute to the strategic direction of the Sixth Form, whilst promoting the Sixth Form as a truly holistic educational experience and holding overall responsibility for the maintenance of high academic standards.
We are very proud of our reputation for academic excellence but also for the superb pastoral care our students receive and the support we provide for the less academically able. We now want your help to enable us to go beyond ‘outstanding’ and help us to live up to our motto of ‘excellence for all.’
Located in the beautiful North Yorkshire spa town, regularly voted the happiest place to live and work in Britain! A great place to work and learn. The post would be ideal for you if you have the talent, commitment and proven experience of leadership within education to help us take the Sixth Form, the School and The Trust, yet further on its journey to being truly ‘world class’.
We are confident our school provides an exceptional teaching environment and we would actively encourage you to visit our school and see for yourself what is on offer. Please contact HR to make an appointment on (01423) 531127
