Director of Studies Maths job summary
Shoreham Academy is looking for an exceptional leader to join our team of amazing and passionate maths teachers on the next stage of our journey.
Our mission is that we develop “the best in everyone” in both our staff and students. GCSE results have steadily risen over the past 5 years with students achieving their best ever results in 2019 with 78% 4+ and 59% 5+. We have a large uptake of students continuing to study Maths at A Level and our results in 2019 were a strong ALPS 2. As Director of Studies for Maths you will lead this highly successful maths department; building on the already good practice and supporting our journey to being a ‘Great School’ through a continuous drive to improve outcomes in maths for all our students in KS3, KS4 and KS5.
If you have the ambition and vision that all students, regardless of their starting points and background, can achieve and you wish to join a school where we inspire students to go beyond what even they thought was possible then we are looking for you!
Why choose Shoreham Academy?
• Culture of high expectations with a binary behaviour system that allows teachers to teach and students to learn
• Whole class feedback and centralised detention system
• Our teaching policy is underpinned by the Rosenshine Principles with well-resourced Schemes of Work and common assessments within United Learning (UL)
• We have a Maths Lead Practitioner as part of the teaching team and receive significant support from UL Subject Advisors
• Extensive CPD to support all career stages working with UL and local providers
• Modern state-of-the-art facilities
• Excellent transportation links and the school is easily accessible from the South East area.
The closing date is Monday 27th April at 8.00am. For those candidates that are shortlisted we will confirm full details of interview process at that point.
