Drama Teacher job summary

Are you someone who loves teaching, is eager to contribute to improving standards and has high standards for students? We do too. High expectations are set within the department for both students and teachers alike with careful, thoughtful and differentiated planning which informs exciting and innovative teaching.

Our Performing Arts is a well-resourced curriculum area with a generous budget. In addition to the resources in the main classrooms we have three practice rooms, an industry standard recording studio, control and live room, an iMac suite which is incredibly well resourced with Logic Pro X, Ableton Live and Ableton launchpads to offer advanced study in composition, sequencing and performance. There is also a professional theatre and control room, well-equipped drama studio and a wealth of instruments to encourage practical performance and peripatetic tuition.

As an Academy we enjoy a low staff turnover and a higher than normal team of support staff including dedicated Student & Family Education Workers assigned to each Year Group, CLASS Workers assigned to curriculum areas and a high investment in CPD. The Academy offers excellent career and professional development. The Academy is outer London but with Inner London pay and offers free on-site parking, free use of the gym, subsidised meals and family friendly policies including dependents entitlement.

The post would be suitable for an excellent new teacher or a more experienced colleague with the qualities and skills necessary to contribute to the development of the subject. This is an important role to commence in September.
