Drama Teacher job summary
Could you be a teacher in Greig City Academy’s Drama Department? We want a dynamic teacher to join our very successful Creative Arts Faculty, which comprises drama, music and art. Drama is a thriving subject and is a popular choice at KS4 and KS5 where BTEC Performing Arts (Acting) is currently offered. Students achieve excellent results and the department has a reputation for exciting and innovative productions. The Drama department has forged links with local theatres and primary schools, which have created opportunities for students to perform on the professional stage and within the community.
Three after-school drama clubs, where Sixth Formers mentor younger students, are very well attended. We have links with RADA and Goldsmiths College whose students and staff lend their expertise in workshops for all key stages. The Creative Arts team can promise you a high level of support and encouragement in helping to develop the department even further. This post is suitable for an NQT.
The school boasts a really positive and supportive relationship between managers and staff and between staff and pupils. Excellent support is in place for our NQTs and there are good opportunities for career progression.
Commitment to safeguarding
Greig City Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we have safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and additional pre-employment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance.
In line with KCSIE updates, an online search will be conducted as part of our due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates.
