Driver/Site Assistant job summary
Join our dedicated team as a Site Assistant at Hamilton School, where your efforts will contribute to the safety, maintenance, and smooth operation of our school while supporting students' transport needs.
This is a hands-on role with diverse responsibilities. You will work closely with the Business Manager and Estates Manager to ensure our school grounds, buildings, and environment are safe, secure, and well-maintained. An essential part of the role involves assisting with student travel using school vehicles, including transport to and from school or off-site activities.
The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Driving Duties: Safely transporting students and staff using the school minibus or other vehicles as required, ensuring the vehicles are maintained and roadworthy.
- Maintenance and Security: Conducting regular checks on the premises, grounds, and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all users.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with contractors and the premises team to address maintenance tasks, minor works, and refurbishment projects.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Supporting regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing, PAT testing, and maintaining the Fire Safety Logbook.
We are looking for a practical and adaptable individual who:
- Holds a full, clean driving license (D1 category is desirable or willingness to undertake necessary training).
- Has a hands-on approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Has a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations or a willingness to learn.
- Is approachable, dependable, and able to maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and contractors.
