EAL Teaching Assistant - supporting small groups of students with varying abilities job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic, inspirational and highly motivated professional to join our successful school. Working within our Learning Support department, your role will be to provide support, either in lessons, as 1:1 tuition, or to small groups of students with varying abilities – the role will include a significant focus on supporting our EAL student especially in light of the Ukrainian crisis and students joining our Academy community as a result.
You will be encouraging and supporting individual pupils to reach their full potential, whilst demonstrating a creative and determined attitude that will help motivate students. You will be directly supporting the students, as well as helping to organise the teaching and learning resources available to students and staff.
We are able to offer this post on an apprenticeship basis (if appropriate for the candidate) whereby you would attain a formal Teaching Assistant Level 3.
We require confident people who can relate well to students and are committed to supporting teaching and learning. Previous classroom experience is preferred but not essential.
This post could suit a range of applicants from a graduate considering moving on to their PGCE or a former teacher considering a return to the profession. Primary colleagues who are looking to move into a secondary school setting are also encouraged to apply.
Commitment to safeguarding
This information is required, including that related to warnings regarded as "spent" in order for the Academy to ensure safe recruitment and meet its obligations to safeguard children. However, you should be aware that any disciplinary history declared will not automatically prevent or inhibit appointment and will depend on the dates and circumstances related to the disciplinary action, outcomes and the type of post being applied for. Note that you are also required to include information if you were subject to a disciplinary process but resigned before it was completed.
