What skills and experience we're looking for
About the role:
We are looking for a well-qualified Mathematics Early Career Teacher to join our high achieving Mathematics faculty.
In 2023, 32% of all GCSE results were at grade 7 or higher. The successful candidate will teach Mathematics up to and including GCSE and A level teaching may also be available.
This post is for a July 2024 start.
Early Career Teachers teach a reduced timetable of 40/50 lessons a fortnight in Year 1 and 42/50 in Year 2. They have a subject mentor from within their faculty and are provided with an in-house induction programme led by a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Further high-quality support is provided by Bridge Academy Trust.

What the school offers its staff
The Maths department at Moulsham High School is fully committed to raising standards and as such is highly regarded by parents and students alike. GCSE results are consistently above national averages, and the team is strong, conscientious and supportive.
The department has nine classrooms, all of which are located adjacent to each other in the quadrangle of the Old School building. It has access to a bookable suite of 30 computers. Staff also have the use of a small staffroom which is located nearby. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard and is wireless networked. Every member of staff is provided with his/her own laptop.
The successful candidate will be part of a large team of ten specialists, three of whom are part time. There are numerous opportunities for further career progression within the maths faculty with TLR postholders taking individual responsibility for Years 7-9, Years 10-11 and Post-16.
The work of the department is also supported by three specialist 1:1 intervention tutors.
The department often welcomes student teachers from the Mid-Essex School Centered Initial Teacher Training scheme.
