We are seeking an experienced Early Years Lead to join our motivated and dedicated team of staff at Hawthorn Park Community Primary School from Easter 2022. We are looking to recruit someone who is child centred and to provide leadership, direction and management within the early years unit to ensure continued improvement of our Foundation Stage, which has been judged as consistently good by Ofsted. Experience of the Read, Write, Inc phonics scheme would be an advantage.
We are in the process of building a brand-new early years unit, due for completion by September 2022 which will allow you the exciting prospect of setting up and managing the new environment to enable the best learning opportunities for our children. It is a unique position, as you will oversee the early years unit of nursery (2+ years) to reception, as well as working alongside staff from the Tennyson Learning Trust who have a reputation for their outstanding schools.
Experience of the Read, Write, Inc phonics scheme would be an advantage along with the drive to want to progress the Early years provision to reach an outstanding Ofsted. Ofsted has continuously rated our Early years provision as ‘Good’ and said ‘Leaders and teachers in Nursery and Reception work very effectively together to ensure that transition is smooth and that there is consistency in the teaching of reading. Children are enthusiastic about their books and want to read to adults and talk about their stories’. Ofsted Report June 2019
