Early Years Practitioner job summary

St John Vianney Catholic Primary School caters for the early learning and care needs of children from birth to three (Starfish Daycare), complementing the existing integrated care and learning of children. We are committed to the learning, care and safeguarding of all children and have comprehensive child-protection strategies in place. We recognise that parents are the first teachers of their child and endeavour to support them, involving them throughout the time their child is in our care.

We are seeking to appoint a whole-time member of staff to work in Daycare (ages 0-5) but maybe required to work occasionally in school. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals who have experience working with children, good communication skills and a positive approach to challenging situations and coping with change.

This is an opportunity for a Practitioner to further their experience by undertaking learning support within an extended setting, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to developing high quality learning and play that will provide support and guidance for the children in our care. Excellent training opportunities will be provided and the support of a well-qualified and experienced team is assured.

Candidates should have Learning Support and Childcare qualifications NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline OR appropriate experience and a willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities. We would also welcome applications from Early Years Professionals or aspiring Early Years Teachers.
