Early Years Teacher

If you’re already experienced in the sector, you’ll know that SEND teaching is uniquely challenging, rewarding and enriching. If you’re thinking of moving from Early Years mainstream teaching, or about to start as an ECT it’s time to discover how remarkable your days could become at Medeshamstede!

Here at Medeshamstede Academy lives are transformed, horizons are broadened, obstacles are overcome and over 100 students aged from four to 16 transcend their expectations.

Specialising in education for young people with varying degrees of autism, including cognitive and sensory difficulties, we offer a carefully tailored curriculum and unconditional support that replaces trepidation with confidence and challenges with opportunities.

What really sets us apart though is the incredible diversity of our pupils – the only thing they have in common is their autism. Join us and you’ll get to know everyone as an individual, due to our small classes of between six and ten, with one teacher and two teaching assistants. This enables us to build amazing relationships with each student, taking the time to understand their passions and priorities, while helping them to get wherever they want to be in ten + years’ time.

Our outstanding facilities – including a forest school, cookery area and outdoor facilities – provide an incredible environment in which to grow, learn and love life.

You’ll provide world-class tailored tuition, supported by a vibrant new senior leadership team and a principal with both vision and verve. We can promise you that some days will be tough and that others you won’t stop laughing and telling yourself how lucky you are to work somewhere so unique. We can guarantee that if ever you have two days the same, you’ll know it’s the weekend.

You’ll be joining a successful multi-academy trust, so your CPD will be comprehensive and your future could take you anywhere, including into strategic management of multiple schools. Along the way, you’ll enjoy some exceptional rewards including Perkbox and employee assistance programme from Health Assured.

If you’re passionate about SEND,or feel its time to make that move then it’s time to apply.

We encourage tours of the Academy please email Ms Kirsty Beynon Office Manager to book a tour with one our leadership team, kbeynon@medeshamstedeacademy.org
