Contract type: Fixed term until July 2024

Hours: 18.75 hours/week (term-time only) PM sessions

Salary: £9065.06 - £9230.20 (pro rata salary - dependent on experience)

The Governing Body of Hillborough Infant and Nursery School is seeking to appoint Early Years Teaching Assistants (with a L2 Early Years qualification mentioned below) to start as soon as possible as part of our Nursery Team. Hillborough Infant and Nursery School is Ofsted rated Good, with pupils who are keen to learn.

We require a committed and self-motivated individual with an enthusiasm for working with young people.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team within the nursery and will undertake a range of tasks such as:

  • Provide support in the classroom to individuals/groups of pupils as directed by the class teacher/line manager (e.g.IEPs, care plans etc.)
  • Follow and implement the school’s behaviour policy and any related policies and procedures.
  • Under the direction of the class teacher develop and maintain supportive relationships with parents, carers and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the care, health and welfare of pupils in accordance with the relevant school policies.
  • Follow and implement the school’s behaviour and any related policies and procedures. Invigilate tests and examinations as directed.
  • Provide support for learning in the classroom as directed by the class teacher/line manager and help to maintain the order and cleanliness of the classroom environment.
  • Assist in the supervision of children during the working day, on/off site including for example school visits, swimming; accompany children home or to hospital before and after school.
  • Assist in classroom preparation
  • Contribute to the care, health and welfare of pupils in accordance with the relevant school policies and support the outcomes of the Every Child Matters agenda
  • Maintain and respect confidentiality.
