We are excited to be recruiting an Education Support Assistant to join our ambitious, supportive team and be passionate about creating a fun, safe and engaging environment by also leading our Afterschool Club provision at the school.

About the role

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our school community in a dual role that combines classroom support with leading of our Afterschool Club. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and teaching staff to support the educational, personal and social development of designated students, helping implement whole-school SEND priorities and enabling pupils to fully engage with their learning. In addition, you will take the lead in our Afterschool Club, delivering a broad range of engaging, participative activities for children aged 4–11. This is more than just a role—it’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference inside and outside the classroom.

About you

You're a caring and enthusiastic team player who also shines when working independently. Quick to adapt and think on your feet, you tailor your support to meet each student’s needs. With experience in creating safe, engaging play environments, you understand what quality childcare looks like. Ideally, you hold a Level 3 qualification in Play-work or Early Years, but strong experience with a willingness to train is equally valued. Clear communication, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for working with children are at the heart of what you bring.

About Us

We pride ourselves on being a small and friendly school with a big broad outlook on the wider world. Through our vibrant curriculum, strong values and dedication our aim is for our children to become 'healthy resilient individuals, innovative contributors, ambitious, curious learners and ethically informed global citizens'.

Our school is set in delightful grounds with a large playground and playing fields, wooden climbing equipment, forest school areas and outdoor classrooms. Inside we also have good facilities which include a large hall, library, sensory room and nursery.

With excellent transport links, including a direct, scenic journey on the Severn Beach train line from Bristol and other key areas, and fantastic access to the M4 and M48 motorway network, a rewarding role in a fantastic school is more accessible than you think.

We can offer you:

  • Access to training to ensure you are successful in your role.
  • Access to resources to make play enjoyable.
  • The opportunity to work with our wonderful, well behaved and enthusiastic children.
  • An important role within a friendly and supportive staff team.
  • Commitment to inclusivity and fostering of diversity
  • Values, ethos and vision that are lived
  • An open and honest culture
  • Local Government pension with up to 19% Employer contributions
  • Up to 30% discount with Microsoft & Dell
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Life Assurance - 3 x Death in Service
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Dedicated counselling service
