Role Introduction

This is an opportunity to join a growing, ambitious Trust and play a key role in shaping the quality of education across our schools. The Educational Psychologist will provide expert guidance, challenge and support to schools, both within the Trust and those considering joining, while leading on the development and quality assurance of Trust-wide strategies for inclusive education.

This role is integral to shaping the Trust’s inclusive education strategy, ensuring that all pupils receive the psychological support necessary to thrive academically and emotionally.

This role will be part of the Executive Team, working closely with the Director of Education and leaders from within the Trust. You will work closely with school leaders to develop their capacity in supporting pupils with complex needs, fostering a whole-school approach to inclusion and wellbeing.

The Educational Psychologist will report directly to the Director of Education.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide high-quality, evidence-based educational psychology services across a multi-academy Trust of 10 schools, supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs. The role includes delivering tailored interventions, supporting staff training, enhancing staff wellbeing, and working strategically with schools.

The Educational Psychologist will be required to create and develop professional partnerships with Headteachers and to quality assure that the provision for children in all our schools is as strong as it can be.

You must hold a psychology degree or a conversion course accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), followed by a three-year BPS-accredited Doctorate in Educational Psychology and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Principle Responsibilities

Strategic development

Pupil Support & Intervention (direct pupil work)

Conduct psychological assessments and provide tailored recommendations for pupils identified as needing additional support

Work collaboratively with SENCOs, school staff, parents and external agencies to support pupils' learning, behaviour, and mental health needs

Deliver or support staff to enable them to deliver interventions with pupils, such as therapeutic programmes or group work

School & Staff Support (training, consultations, strategic school-level input)

Support schools in identifying and addressing specific educational or psychological needs

Provide consultation services to help staff develop inclusive strategies for pupils with additional needs

Contribute to statutory assessments and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) as required

Trust-Wide Leadership & Policy Development (strategic initiatives, QA, research)

Deliver staff training on relevant topics, such as trauma-informed practices, inclusive classroom strategies, or mental health first aid

Support staff wellbeing initiatives through workshops or one-on-one consultation

Provide expert leadership in shaping and refining Trust-wide policies and practices related to SEN, inclusion, and mental health, ensuring they reflect best practice and national guidance

Ensure that Trust-wide policies and practices related to SEN, inclusion, and mental health are evidence-based, consistently implemented, and regularly reviewed, to drive continuous improvement across all schools

Stay informed on emerging research and ensure that Trust-wide practices remain evidence-based and impactful

Liaise with other colleagues from other Trusts to share best practice

Additional Allocated Time

Provide flexible support beyond SLA agreements for specific needs, such as bespoke assessments, targeted interventions, or emergency responses

Lead Trust-wide capacity-building activities, such as developing wellbeing initiatives or creating resources for staff and students

Professional Oversight & Impact Reporting (accountability, compliance, CPD)

Maintain up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and recommendations in line with professional standards and GDPR regulations

Provide regular feedback and impact reports to the central Trust leadership team

Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in the field of educational psychology

Concordia Multi Academy Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Educational Psychologist to lead and enhance pupil and staff support across our schools. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop psychological services within a growing, ambitious Trust.

As our Educational Psychologist, you will work directly with schools to provide expert advice, assessments, and interventions that improve outcomes for all pupils, particularly those with additional needs. You will also play a key role in training staff, supporting SEND strategy, and contributing to Trust-wide school improvement initiatives.

This is a new role for our Trust and we are keen to appoint someone who is passionate, experienced and strives to ensure that every child within our Trust receives the best possible education.

This role will provide an opportunity to work within a growing, ambitious and aspirational Trust and provide support, challenge and guidance to schools within or considering joining the Trust.

Concordia Multi Academy Trust currently consists of eight primary schools, one infant school and an English Hub across Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East and Wirral. Our current Ofsted judgements are four outstanding schools and five good schools.

The Trust is at an exciting time in its journey of growth and we are looking to further enhance our support to schools and the incoming Educational Psychologist will help us to build on our already successful journey. We are anticipating further growth of up to fifteen schools.

We are looking to appoint a highly experienced education psychologist who has a track record of supporting schools to improve. Location

The position will be primarily based within the Concordia offices within Ellesmere Port and successful applicants will be required to travel and work from any of the schools within our Trust. The post will enable an element of flexible working from home subject to agreement with the Director of Education.

Pay and Pension

£53,000 per annum pro rata for 4 days and term time only.

Full time equivalent of £76859.

Non-contributory NEST pension of 8%.
