What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Educational Teaching Assistant to support our successful English department. This role will also incorporate cover supervision duties within the English department for a maximum of 1 days equivalent per week. The salary is a combination of scales to reflect the duties.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of English teaching staff and the SEND department to implement and oversee agreed work programmes with individual and small groups of students by supporting progress through intervention. This intervention will be in the form of extraction groups and in-class support. Competence in understanding and delivering GCSE English content up to grade 5 is essential.

You will need to be able to work collaboratively and flexibly and build good relationships with both students and staff, demonstrating a respectful and caring attitude towards everyone in school. Experience of working with children in a school environment and having the appropriate literacy to support students is required.

- An attractive pension scheme for both Teaching and Support staff.

- A high-quality wellbeing package including medical cover, counselling, physiotherapy, fast track medical cover, care service and a 24-hour GP helpline.

- Care First Advice - a 24/7 information and counselling service.

- We are part of the Cycle to Work scheme. Tax free bikes and safety equipment can be payable by payroll deduction through a partnership with Cyclescheme.

Further details about the role

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who are able to work as part of the whole staff team, and who will support and uphold the Catholic ethos and practices of the school.

All Saints is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, we expect all workers, volunteers and employees to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including online searches and a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Record with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children (where the role involves this type of regulated activity).

A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Please note, we are unable to accept CVs as an application for any of our vacancies as this does not support our safer recruitment processes.

At All Saints Catholic College the highest level of safeguarding is practised in every aspect to ensure all students and staff feel safe. This enables our community to be able to thrive in a supportive environment within the College and to be able to raise any concerns with confidence of appropriate action.
