Northampton Academy requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding EHA co-ordinator to join our Wellbeing team.
The EHA co-ordinator will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable students in the Academy who have not reached threshold for social service support. You will work in school on the early identification of families needing support and take appropriate action including; undertaking EHA, leading EHAs, attending EHAs, reviewing progress and academic outcomes with parents and other responsible adults, referral to and liaison with external agencies and home visits.
The role will also allow for work to be completed with parents within the school on such area’s as functional skills, job clubs and DV support.
This is a rewarding, yet demanding role and the successful candidate will work closely with students, staff and parents in order to support our high expectations.
You should have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations, be resilient and demonstrate energy and drive. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have excellent verbal communication skills and an awareness of the importance of inclusion for children. You will be excellent at multi-tasking, often handling heavy caseloads.
Due to the nature of the role, it is likely some flexibility will be required during certain times of the academic year e.g. parents/open evenings.
Northampton Academy is a transformational comprehensive and non-selective school of approximately 1500 students, serving a diverse community. We were proud to be judged 'good' by Ofsted in all areas in February 2016. Our values, which underpin every decision we take, are RESPECT, DETERMINATION and AMBITION. We have a comprehensive student character-building programme, which has been nationally recognised through the Character Kitemark.
