Emotional Wellbeing Learning Support Assistant job summary

Leodis Academies Trust is a successful Multi Academy Trust with five schools in the South Leeds area. As part of our continued growth we are looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Learning Support Assistant (EWLSA) at Westerton Primary Academy. Working alongside a responsive team of professionals as our EWLSA, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that will identify children who would benefit from emotional early intervention support.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop into an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) role and is willing to attend a full Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training course.

Reporting to the Principal you will implement the management of emotional strategies, and plan and deliver programmes that will support our children in developing their emotional, social and friendship skills. With a caring approach and a proven record of success in delivering individualised programmes of support, you will be a contributory part of providing early intervention and ongoing support for our pupils.

Using your ability to relate well to children and a strong ability to build and sustain strong relationships with children, parents and the wider school community, you will assist in removing barriers to learning for all our children. As an excellent communicator and with effective team working skills, you will be a valuable member of our school community and a valued resource to our pupils.

The post is based at Westerton Primary Academy and applicants should ensure they are able to travel to the place of work before they apply. Westerton is part of Leodis Academies Trust, a successful Multi Academy Trust with five schools in the South Leeds area and as such there may be future opportunities for career development across the Trust in the future.
