What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative, dedicated and passionate Literacy intervention specialist to work in partnership with a dynamic and forward-thinking Literacy team to deliver tailored support to students.

In this role, you will provide 1:1 and small group interventions to help raise the attainment of students, specifically running KS3 literacy intervention sessions. These groups will focus on reading recovery as well as writing and oracy.

The successful candidate will have a passion and understanding of the importance of literacy and it is desirable that they have experience in a secondary school environment and knowledge of phonics. The successful applicant will also:

  • Have a strong foundation to build effective relationships to have maximum impact on student learning
  • Have the ability to motivate young people to achieve their best
  • Be highly motivated to plan and deliver creative ways to raise attainment

  • Support students in their literacy development
  • Be able plan and deliver sessions following an outlined programme of study
