English Teacher job summary

It is an exciting time at Becket Keys Church of England School (Outstanding, 2014). We are working hard to build upon the GCSE successes of our three founding cohorts to ensure our next cohort get their best possible results in 2020, whilst also establishing our new Sixth Form into its third year.

As part of our growth plan, we are now seeking an additional teacher to join our highly successful and hard-working English team. If you can deliver engaging English teaching to our students, we want to hear from you! Furthermore, if you are ready to take on the leadership of Key Stage 3 there is the possibility for this. The department is looking to support someone into their first middle leadership role – please talk to us if this interests you. Equally, we would welcome applications from teachers who are looking for a role without a TLR. NQTs would be well looked after here – we have an excellent track record of supporting teachers in the first years of their career.

Our department is one of the strongest in the school and consistently delivers exceptionally high standards in both progress and attainment terms. Students thoroughly enjoy English at this school with good numbers continuing at A level. We are supported by the Russell Education Trust and the successful candidate will have regular access to their adviser and examiner support team.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need a full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, which can be applied for once a job offer is made.
