About the role
At the Castle School we are a collaborative and supportive team of teachers with a wide range of experience and expertise. We pride ourselves on having a fully resourced, pre-planned curriculum which teachers are encouraged to adapt to suit their own teaching styles. We are constantly striving to improve upon and develop our schemes of work in order to ensure the best outcomes and maximum engagement from all our students.
Here at The Castle School we are also passionate about encouraging reluctant readers and driving forward literacy through the implementation of regular reading sessions.
You will teach English. Your primary role will be to support and challenge all students to achieve their full potential and achieve academic success through strong classroom practice. You will uphold the school values, and at all times promote the safety and welfare of young people in accordance with CSET/School policies and procedures and any associated guidance.
About you
The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, passionate and a real team player who is seeking to hone their subject knowledge and pedagogy and demonstrates a willingness to learn. You will be able to demonstrate initiative in your role, as well as being agile so as to meet changing needs in your environment. You will be able to build effective relationships and be a positive role model for the students. We welcome and encourage applications from ECTs.

It is an exciting time to join The Castle School with current building developments taking place, ready for the Sixth Form centre to merge onto the main site. The new Sixth Form centre and facilities will be opening in September 2024 and will include the Business Studies and Economics classrooms.
