Eden Girls’ School is an Outstanding 11-18 Academy, which opened in September 2014 with a state of the art new build which boasts excellent facilities for all faculties. Our student numbers are increasing every year as we build up our capacity and this will continue over the coming years until we reach our maximum school roll of 800 students.
We are pleased to be able to offer this exciting opportunity for a talented Teacher of English to join our supportive and forward thinking faculty from September. This opportunity would suit an inspirational teacher with a real passion for your subject and whose focus is on achieving excellent results for students, instilling in them a love for the subject, and a desire to achieve. This role is suitable for an NQT looking for their first teaching role or equally an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge; we offer excellent training opportunities and support for teachers of all levels.
Our first cohort of Year 11 students achieved exceptional GCSE results in the summer 2018. Our Progress 8 score of +1.36 placed our school in 7th position in the country. We are also very proud that 67% of our students achieved GCSE Grades 9-5 in both English and Mathematics.
We are part of a successful family of schools, run by the Star Academies. At our school we believe that staff should be happy and enjoy coming to work each day. We have a strong ethos based around success, humility and respect and are looking to appoint a reflective and engaging candidate who will help to further develop the positive culture for both staff and students.
In 2017, our school was inspected by Ofsted for the first time since opening and we were graded ‘Outstanding’ in every category by the inspection team. This further highlights the hugely talented team we have in our school working in partnership with ambitious students and their families.
We offer:
• Excellent opportunities for professional development, with high ambitions for all
• A supportive ethos and concern for the well-being of all members of our school
• Focused students with high standards of commitment and supportive parents
The successful candidate will:
• be able to deliver English to GCSE
• be a highly committed teacher who is passionate about their subject and our learners
• be prepared to deliver after school enrichment programmes and contribute to wider school activities.
School visits are actively encouraged.
We are a high performing and inclusive school with applications welcome from teachers of all faiths and none. For further information, the application form and job description, please contact Mike Sherwin.
