English Teacher job summary

Are you an English teacher with a real passion for your subject and looking for a new challenge?
Can you build positive relationships with young people and make a difference?
Are you enthusiastic, resilient and have a flexible approach.
Do you have the experience and passion to give the most vulnerable children and young people the best chance to succeed and thrive?

We are looking for a skilled KS3/4 English teacher for our North Oxfordshire provision based in Banbury, for an Easter start or earlier. You will be part of a passionate and dedicated team making a real difference to young people’s lives.

This exciting and varied role will provide you with a wide range of experiences, including:
being a tutor to a small group of students
developing your skills in working with children with SEMH/ASD/Mental Health difficulties
opportunity to work with primary age pupils in support of them developing their literacy skills

We believe in a shared team ethos, working together using flexible and supportive approaches to develop students’ learning and behaviour. Meadowbrook staff have a ‘can do’ attitude that makes a real difference to the lives of our students; many of which have become disengaged with education and lost the confidence to achieve their full potential.

We are always looking for creative and innovative ways forward and offer a variety of opportunities for ongoing professional development and training. We are working in an ever-changing educational climate where the need for an alternative provision solution is increasing. We are always adapting and new opportunities are always evolving. We very much value colleagues who are keen to be involved in the continuing development of the school.

Meadowbrook College is a welcoming, nurturing and stimulating environment for students and staff. If this role appeals to you please contact us to find out more.

Commitment to safeguarding

Meadowbrook College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff and volunteers are also expected to promote fundamental British values. This post involves the type of work with children and young people that require applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed. On-line searches are carried out on those shortlisted
