English Teacher job summary

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of English to join a successful and motivated department in our school. As part of this professional and dedicated team you will be instrumental in inspiring and motivating our students. Our forward-thinking Faculty takes a collaborative and supportive approach to the development of its staff and you will play a key role in continuing to raise standards. This post is suitable for an NQT.

The English Faculty at Greig City Academy is creative, imaginative, committed, collegial and very strong.  We believe we work better for our students if we work as a team: if we share resources, support one another’s development as teachers, and contribute ideas to improve and inspire each other. We also strongly believe in the Academy’s desire to incorporate extra-curricular opportunities to forge better relationships, to expand the curriculum, and broaden the opportunities for students to engage with English as a subject. There is much scope here to develop in such a way.

The school boasts a really positive and supportive relationship between managers and staff and between staff and pupils. Excellent support is in place for our NQTs and there are good opportunities for career progression.

Commitment to safeguarding

Greig City Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we have safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and additional pre-employment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance.

In line with KCSIE updates, an online search will be conducted as part of our due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates.
