KGA Bay House School is seeking an inspiring and academically driven Teacher of English to join our collaborative team.

Set within an exceptional coastal site, Bay House is a place where teachers are empowered to lead. You will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to contribute to our thriving Sixth Form (KS5) provision. This role is suitable for an ambitious ECT or an experienced teacher looking to make a significant impact within a large, supportive secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the AQA English Language and Literature specifications, ensuring students are expertly prepared for their GCSEs.

  • Engage students with a diverse range of texts, from Shakespeare and 19th-century fiction to modern drama and poetry.

  • Foster a "Culture of Reading" across the school, using data-driven insights to ensure every pupil reaches their potential.

  • Implement "Quality First Teaching" strategies to support SEND and EAL learners, ensuring English remains accessible and challenging for all.

  • Act as a dedicated Form Tutor, upholding the school’s high standards for attendance, behaviour, and student wellbeing.

The Person Specification
  • UK QTS and a strong degree in English or a related discipline

    Proven experience (or a willingness to develop expertise) in the AQA assessment frameworks.

  • Safeguarding: Full commitment to KCSIE protocols and the proactive safeguarding of all young people.
