Your role
Our English Department is growing and we are looking for an engaging and forward-thinking individual who will lead and continue to build the department.
We also have an exciting opportunity available for additional responsibility as KS3 Coordinator. This would involve coordinating and developing the KS3 English curriculum alongside the Subject Lead. The TLR responsibility will be discussed further at the interview stage.

The English team at QKA are an award-winning department with an ambitious and aspiring team. the team have been awarded the TES English Team of the Year 2021 award for their delivery of a ‘multi-layered approach in bringing texts to life for students, as well as the uniqueness of the curriculum and the ways in which diversity in literature is strongly embedded’ (TES Judges). The team were also shortlisted for the Bernice McCabe Award and were highly commended by the PTI for their work on the growth in their KS5 provision and social mobility.
The department is well resourced and led by fantastic practitioners and we are looking to appoint a colleague who shares their enthusiasm and unwavering determination to help every student enjoy, achieve and progress in English from KS3 through to KS5. In Sixth Form, A Level English Language and A Level English Literature are delivered and in both subjects students make well above average progress given their starting points.
