What skills and experience we're looking for

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons that are accessible and inspiring
  • Develop and adapt teaching resources to support students with varying abilities, including those with additional educational needs
  • Utilise creative and differentiated teaching strategies to engage students and support their learning progress
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages students to participate, think critically, and develop a love for English

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related subject
  • Proven experience teaching English, with a track record of improving student outcomes
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs is desirable

Nightingale Community Academy is a school for boys aged between 5 and 19 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Statement of SEN for social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Some learners also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or other learning difficulties.
