Able to use a range of teaching and learning strategies
An understanding for how Assessment for Learning can improvestudent performance
Confidence in the use of standard computer packages (word
processing, email and spreadsheets) and how these can be used toenhance student learning
Able to use student level data to raise standards
Able to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
Creative in problem solving together with willingness to take on andtry new approaches and ideas
Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues
Ability to communicate high expectations to all students
Able to communicate both orally and in writing to students and theirparents
Sharing good practice across the department Recent and relevant teaching experience in employment or training.
Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learningand achievementof all students.
A good understanding of curriculum developments in the specificsubject area.
A degree in an appropriate discipline related to relevant subject.
Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Outwood Academy Freeston became part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust on 1st May 2018. The Academy is in the heart of Normanton, which is a small town and part of the City of Wakefield.
It is a mixed school for both girls and boys ages 11-16. We are an increasingly popular choice of secondary school for families in the local area.
