What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our friendly and evolving English department. The successful candidate should possess deep subject knowledge and a passion for English. We want someone who will inspire students to love the subject as much as we do. As a member of the Outwood family, you will be aligned with our vision, which places 'Students First' at its core.
The English curriculum in our school is rigorous, with appropriate challenge and consolidation to allow students of all abilities to flourish, whilst offering opportunities for increased breadth and depth for more-able students and support and intervention for students who are less fluent. The skills, knowledge and understanding developed through the Key Stage 3 curriculum provide a solid preparation for success in KS4 examination courses (Eduqas) and post-16 A-level courses. The students of Outwood Grange Academy both deserve and need exceptional staff role models. We are looking for staff who care, who inspire, and who believe in our students' potential. Is this you?
What the school offers its staff
We are an Outstanding-rated, 11-18 academy, based in Wakefield, a cathedral city near Leeds. Wakefield is the birthplace of the successful Outwood Grange Family, a Trust that has supported 41 schools across various phases in the North of England.
We have nurtured a school community that is welcoming and friendly, where students and staff can make excellent progress together, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.
