English Teacher job summary

We are seeking an outstanding teacher of English to join our experienced team of creative and passionate teachers. The English Department provides opportunities for our young people to flourish academically and to develop a lifelong love of language and literature. We contribute positively to the results of the school and provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to take their next steps. We can offer you dynamic and enthusiastic students, the opportunity to be part of a successful team, high quality professional development and a whole school commitment to excellence and justice.
This role would suit an experienced teacher or a NQT. We welcome and support NQTs with an excellent NQT program, tailored to individual needs, where you will be supported by a mentor. Support and training is continued after the first year of teaching.

Plumstead Manor is a thriving and popular secondary school located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. There has been a school on our site since 1913, with the first 105 years as a girls’ school. In response to local demand we admitted our first mixed cohort in 2018 and gradually move to being fully co-educational by 2022.
