Premises Manager job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, positive, and capable Premises Manager to cultivate and maintain our school premises and grounds, contributing to the safeguarding and enhancing our pupils’ lives.
You will be responsible for overseeing the school's upkeep, care, maintenance, health and safety, and facilities management under the guidance and leadership of the headteacher, with support from the Central Facilities Team.
You will oversee the estate's daily operations, including liaising with and managing the clearing company and contractors, undertaking minor repairs, maintenance, and redecoration, and playing a crucial role in effectively managing the delivery of construction and refurbishment projects.
You will also be accountable for the site's security, act as a key holder for out-of-hours emergencies and ensure compliance requirements are met in accordance with legislative regulations and guidelines.
About You:
You will have a keen interest in minor maintenance; no trade qualifications are required, but previous experience in a similar role would be highly advantageous.
Good decision-making skills and common sense are essential, as you will be working in a busy school environment. A large degree of flexibility is also a must!
You will have knowledge of:
- Moving and handling procedures, and be physically able to carry out the physical tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, clearing snow etc)
- Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions
- COSHH regulations, applying knowledge gained as appropriate
The role is based on 37 hours per week, but specific hours of work will be negotiable upon appointment of the successful candidate. There will be a need to include Monday to Friday for school opening at a minimum.
