Long Road Sixth Form College is a thriving, successful post-16 Sixth Form College with 2,600 students on roll across a variety of studies. Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, the college is set next to the Biomedical Campus in its own attractive grounds in the beautiful and expanding city of Cambridge. Long Road was judged by OFSTED to be Good or Outstanding in all five categories at its most recent inspection in February 2025.
In this role you will manage operations ensuring the estate is safe, well-maintained, and supports educational delivery through effective planning, compliance, and investment. Ensuring that all buildings, grounds and infrastructure are safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for purpose. You will lead and manage Estates staff, ensuring correct levels of staffing are maintained for effective site management and a staff Rota is in place for weekly working patterns. You will also assist in the planning and play an active role in the delivery of College events such as admissions, open evenings and any other such events as and when required.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum three years’ experience in an Estates Role, a good understanding of all building trade skills and process, and the ability to prioritise and plan workloads, often multi-tasking and working with complex changeable routines. You will assist in the implementation of the Estates Strategy & Asset Management plan. A good standard of general fitness is required due to the layout and design of buildings, which requires significant walking and climbing of stairs.
The standard working hours of this role are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, but will also require the provision of leave- and sickness-cover to the 6-day shift pattern.
