Exam Invigilator job summary

Vacancy for Exam Invigilator

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 3, Point 2

Rate of Pay: £11.62 - £11.82 per hour (casual contract).

Hours of work: As exams dictate, term time only, occasional hours before or after school by negotiation.

We have a vacancy for a flexible and reliable individual to join our existing, efficient and friendly team at North Cambridge Academy as an Exam Invigilator. You will be required to supervise students during their examinations, ensuring that official guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of examination papers and procedures are followed. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

The Opportunity

  • To work at the direction of the Examinations Officer or Senior Invigilator.
  • Invigilate a variety of external and internal examinations throughout the year.
  • Ensure Exam Board Regulations are adhered to.
  • Complete seating plans and other examination related documentation.
  • Work flexibly within the examination timetable, covering unforeseen circumstances.

The ideal candidate

  • Has a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
  • Possess an understanding of the education system and how children learn.
  • Able to work closely with pupils who are finding learning difficult, or those who have experienced a feeling of failure.
  • Is firm but fair and possesses excellent organisation skills and a keen eye for detail.
