Exam Invigilator job summary

We are an 11-18 school in the picturesque village of Great Missenden in the heart of the Chilterns. We have just over 1000 students on roll including a successful and growing Sixth Form.

Our staff tell us they genuinely feel like part of a team; a team who are striving to help each student flourish both academically and personally.

We are seeking to recruit individuals who relate well to young people and adults to work as exam invigilators on a casual basis primarily during November/December and May/June for external exams but also throughout the academic year for internal exams. If you enjoy working with young people, are flexible and can fit easily into a team then this would be an ideal opportunity for you. This role may suit someone who is already working part time and looking for something extra during the school day or equally someone who is at home and thinking about working on a part time casual basis.

The actual day and times may vary throughout the season dependent upon the examination timetable and specific student needs, but would be unlikely to go beyond the school day.

We are a great team at The Misbourne, dedicated to supporting student outcomes. We have a broad range of invigilators who work with the Exams Officer, overseeing and supervising examinations to ensure all guidelines and regulations are adhered to in the supervision and running of internal and external examinations. All necessary training will be provided and you will work alongside other experienced invigilators.

Would you like to make a difference to the outcomes and life chances of young people? If so, you could become part of our dedicated team.

The application process works as follows:

- To apply via My New Term application form

- Successful candidates will receive an invite to interview (the interview session will be around 20 -30 minutes)

- Successful candidates will be invited to attend a training session (training duration is 2.5 hours at the Misbourne school)

- After attending the training session, HR will provide you with an offer letter (please be aware that we will require 2 x references in order to provide you with an offer letter)

- You will be contacted to ask for your availability and arrangement made for the days/timings that we will need you to come in and all hours will be agreed in advance.

The Misbourne reserves the right to close and shortlist early, therefore early applications are encouraged.

Please note all shortlisted applicants will be subject to a pre-employment check.

The Misbourne is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. An offer of appointment is subject to satisfactory references, DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Enhanced Disclosure and medical clearance.
