JOB TITLE Exam Invigilator
Based at The Ravensbourne School Hayes Lane Kent BR2 9EH
SALARY: £12.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
HOURS: The hours are flexible; it may be possible to work full days or just morning or afternoon sessions to cover different combinations of hours during the exam period.
The need for exam invigilators is at its highest from October to February which is mock exam season and then April to July which is the main exam season. Although exams can fall outside this time too. Often you will be required for around 3 hours at a time, although this may depend on the exam as some may run longer or shorter than others.

START DATE: Once DBS has been received and online training has been completed.
Main duties and responsibilities
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and The Ravensbourne School regulations and instructions from the Exams Officer.
To have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination/assessment process
Preparing the exam hall and other exam rooms to ensure that it meets the JCQ requirements.
Assist as directed with the movement of students – ensuring JCQ regulations are always maintained.
As instructed from Exams Officer / Lead invigilator ensure all exam room paperwork has been completed accurately e.g register.
Always supervise and observe candidates and be vigilant throughout exams.
Assist with the collection of papers at the end of the examination in exam number order.
Assist with the safe and timely dispatch of the completed scripts.
Ensure the examination room is left in a reasonable state ready for the next examination or class.
Always ensure the security of question-and-answer papers. They should be taken directly to the Exams Officer, at the end of the examination.
Providing support where necessary should an emergency arise e.g. sick student, fire evacuation.
Undertake training, update and review sessions as required.
Ensuring that exam conditions are always adhered to.
