‘Inspiring us to be the best that we can be!’

The ethos at Holsworthy is one of support. The dedicated staff at HCC will work together to identify and provide the assistance your child needs to maximise their achievement. We have high expectations for pupils and teachers alike to work together to ensure strong progress, from when pupils join us in Year 7, to when they leave us in Year 11. We want to work with parents and carers to give our pupils the best chance of success during what are very important years of their lives.

We are a small, rural secondary school in North Devon, in the market town of Holsworthy. We have many strengths: our family feel, excellent pastoral support, strong and passionate teachers as well as greatstudents.

We are proud to be part of the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust. This is allowing us to build strong links with Okehampton College and Tavistock College and our thirteen primary schools, as well as allowing us to work more closely with other schools and organisations across Devon and beyond. We believe achievement is not just about qualifications. Personal development is key to what we do. We are developing opportunities for students to play an active part in the school community in the form of student voice groups and working more closely with the community.

Our Governing Body are a knowledgeable, committed and driven group who meet most weeks to discuss and evaluate our needs and progress. I genuinely feel it is an honour and privilege for me to be able to lead and develop further the education and life skills of the children at Holsworthy Community College.
