Examinations and Data Assistant job summary
Due to retirement of the current post holder, we are looking to appoint a new Examinations and Data Assistant for January 2022. This role involves assisting the Examinations and Data Officer in the analysis and presentation of school data to provide accurate and up-to-the minute interpretation of pupil information. Good data is the foundation for target-setting and an indicator for interventions to increase attainment. The post holder will be required to able to manipulate and disseminate data effectively to the whole school community as well as assisting with both internal and external examinations.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

The post holder will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time plus 10 additional days in the school holiday period to include GCSE and A Level results days (40 working weeks per year). Salary at Grade 4, points 9-12 (£19,948 - £21,153 per annum on a full time basis) – actual commencing salary on pro rata basis (at point 9): £17,653 pa.
This is an important role at the School and requires an individual who can demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and outstanding problem-solving skills are essential for this post. It is important that the candidate has a ‘can-do’ attitude, is able to work efficiently in a busy environment and can successfully prioritise their workload to meet deadlines.
It is essential that the post holder has in-depth experience of MS Excel. Previous familiarity with an educational environment & knowledge of the school’s management system (SIMS) are desirable. Training in the examination role would be available to a suitable candidate.
The role requires that the post holder is able to work flexible hours during exam & report periods and it is essential that they are available for 3 days on each of the A Level and GCSE results weeks in August.
