HOURS: 37.00 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

The Examinations Team work closely with teaching and non-teaching colleagues across the Academy to provide an effective and efficient exams administration service for students. We have approximately 1,700 students, the majority of whom will take formal examinations throughout their time at Samuel Whitbread Academy. External examinations carried out in college include GCSE, AS and A Level, T Level and Vocational exams. Internal assessments (mock exams) are also administered by the team. It is a busy Department, with the academic year punctuated with many deadlines. The Department, and this role, is vital to the experience and success of the students and the Academy.
Due to internal reallocation of responsibilities within the Data and Examinations Team, we are seeking to appoint an Examinations Officer to start ASAP.The successful applicant will oversee the effective and efficient administration of internal and external examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations and/or awarding body; ensuring the integrity and security of the assessment process.
They post holder will represent the centre and serve as the primary contact for issues concerning the overall administration of examinations and assessments conducted by the awarding body. This role involves close collaboration with essential stakeholders, both external and internal, to guarantee that the processes for exam administration are adhered to rigorously.
Key duties include:
- Ensuring all exams are conducted to the standards and requirements stated by the awarding bodies, the school, JCQ and Ofqual.
- Liaising with Teachers, pupils, parents and awarding bodies in respect of exam requirements, entries, results & communications, ensuring that the school adheres to awarding bodies’ and JCQ regulations.
- Facilitating the administration of exam access arrangements.
- Recruiting, train, update and manage a team of Exam Invigilators.
This role is offered on a 37-hour a week, 52 weeks a year basis, unfortunately we would be unable to accept applications requesting term term working or part-time hours. The successful candidate will be qualified to a minimum of diploma level and should have GCSE English and Maths at grades A-C (or equivalent). They will be highly organised and able to work quickly, accurately and to strict deadlines. Excellent communication skills and previous experience of working in a complex administrative role is required.
This role will involve working closely with the pupils at Samuel Whitbread Academy and you will be engaging in regulated activity with children.
