Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As an Exams Assistant at Wellsway School, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust.

Wellsway School is a successful, high-performing 11-18 mixed comprehensive that is popular and over-subscribed, with almost 1300 students on roll. Our school has an excellent reputation locally and in the wider community for academic excellence and the quality of its pastoral care and support.

As Exams Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Examinations Officer in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Maintaining systems and databases for producing schedules, reports and management information for examination administration and assessment management.
  • Disseminating information and answer enquiries regarding external examinations with staff, students and parents/carers.
  • Assisting with the development of a centre timetable to include dates, times, venues and number of candidates.
  • Assisting in developing the invigilation programme, including briefing and training current invigilators in school procedures.
  • Being involved in the recruitment, allocation and supervision of invigilators.
  • Liaising with the SEN/D coordinator regarding candidates with SEN/D; applying to awarding bodies for special arrangements for such candidates.
  • To assist with the organisation of exam materials, including question papers, in accordance with regulations.

We are looking for a highly motivated and suitably qualified person with the skills to provide organisational and administrative support to the Exams and Data Officer. You will work as part of a small team in a busy environment, delivering key tasks and activities that support both Wellsway School and IKB Academy in their provision of examinations and student data.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, planning, organisation and IT skills
