What skills and experience we're looking for

Moss Hall Federation is comprised of Moss Hall Infant School and Moss Hall Junior School and has been operating as one organisation since 1st January 2020. With one Governing Board and our Executive Headteacher leading both schools, the federation has a vision to provide a coherent and ambitious learning journey for children from Reception to Year 6 through creative collaboration and common purpose.

Our schools are safe, happy places where we aim for our children to excel academically, creatively and socially with the knowledge, skills and character to contribute purposefully to society. Our federation values to be kind, work hard and make a difference underpin and guide everything we do.

We are looking for a suitably experienced executive leader who can:

Align with, maintain and build on our strong and supportive federation culture, for staff and children – based on evidence-led practice and the highest possible aspirations for all.

Be a visible and trusted face in our wider school community, working closely with families, the local authority and other partners

Motivate staff to deliver the highest possible standards of education for the children we serve, leading and innovating in important areas and sharing best practice more widely.

Ensure all children and seen, known and safe.

Work closely with governors to develop and deliver the long-term strategy for Moss Hall Federation.

What the school offers its staff

We strive to create the conditions for every child to learn together, with and from each other, for staff to flourish and for our community to be inclusive. This means protecting staff wellbeing and ensuring all staff are treated fairly.

Our staff are professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to improving outcomes for children at Moss Hall. The federation has developed a culture of continual improvement and staff who inspire one another and improve practice more broadly.

Whilst the role of Executive Headteacher is a high-pressure post, we offer a committed and supportive Governing Body, and an established team of senior leaders who can support the postholder in realising their vision and managing the day-to-day operations of the schools.

Flexible working opportunities

This role is full-time based at the schools.
