Executive Headteacher, The Trent-Rylands Federation job summary
Start date: 1st September 2022
The Trent-Rylands Federation vision is to provide the best start in life for our children through an inclusive and engaging education which is rooted in our local community. The two schools in the federation, Trent Vale Infant and Nursery School and Rylands Junior School, benefit from shared values, which allows for a ‘whole school’ learning journey under the leadership of an Executive Headteacher and a single Governing Body.
The Governors are now seeking to appoint an Executive Headteacher to build on the foundations we have established and to take our federation to the next stage of its development. Our schools, which are adjacent to each other, serve children from a variety of backgrounds and are located in Beeston Rylands, an area with a strong community identity close to the city of Nottingham.
We are very committed to ensuring that our children both enjoy their learning and achieve their full potential and that when they leave us they do so as emotionally intelligent, articulate young people. Both our schools were judged to be good at their last inspection. Inspectors highlighted the positive impact of the close collaboration between the two schools on our children’s educational experience and the degree of ambition we have in respect of our their academic, social, personal and emotional development.
As a federation we are also committed to working in partnership with other schools in the area as a way of sharing what we do well and learning from best practice. We are active members of the Chilwell family of schools and are also members of the George Spencer Teaching School Alliance.
A visit to our websites at www.trentvale.notts.sch.uk and www.beestonrylandsjunior.co.uk will give you an indication of our vision and values and provide you with lots of additional information about our schools which, we hope, will lead you to apply for the role of Executive Headteacher of our federation.
What we can offer you is:
• A federation of two schools that has children and their families at the very centre of what it does
• Excellent parental engagement
• Experienced and hardworking members of staff
• Well-informed governors who take an active role in the life of our schools
The person we are looking for will have:
• The ability to think strategically and to lead development and change across the federation
• An understanding of how to further develop the collaboration between our schools and other schools in Nottinghamshire
• An excellent track record as a school leader
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others
We believe that this is a tremendous opportunity for an experienced school leader to take their career to its next stage.
The closing date for applications is 12 pm on Wednesday 2nd February 2022
Shortlisting will take place on Wednesday 9th February
Interviews will take place on 2nd and 3rd March and will be subject to any relevant Government guidance regarding COVID19.
