Executive Headteacher job summary

The University and Governing Body are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Executive Headteacher who can lead the school on its next stage of an exciting chapter in its history. This follows the successful leadership of our founding Executive Headteacher, Dr James Biddulph, who is being promoted to a CEO role in a Multi-Academy Trust. We need a passionate educator who has children at the heart of all they do and who are energised by enabling everyone in our community to flourish.

We are the first University Training School at primary level in the UK. We are dedicated to provide an exceptional standard of education, inspired by the world class research at the University of Cambridge. Our team embodies innovation in education, aiming to be at the forefront of educational research, practice, and development. Our core purpose is to nurture compassionate citizenship, embracing our five values of empathy, respect, trust, courage and gratitude.

We are looking for somebody who not only embodies our ethos and values but is also committed to upholding the school's exceptional academic, inclusive and pastoral standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of talented senior leaders, teachers and wider team, fostering an environment that encourages their growth and development while promoting collaboration and innovation. Working closely with the Governing Body and stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to continue the developing journey of the school and ensure excellence in the educational experience for all its children is maintained.

This is a career-defining role because whilst it is high profile, the opportunities to be made with the world class university and its partners are many. We consider this position to be highly significant, requiring an individual adept at navigating organisational complexities, overseeing varied initiatives and cultivating strong relationships with our working partners and colleagues. Your noteworthy communication skills, visionary leadership approach, and ability to inspire and motivate others will be vital in bringing our ambitious goals to fruition.

If you feel ready to take on this challenge and contribute to the legacy of the University of Cambridge Primary School, we invite you to submit your application so that we may learn more about your expertise, passion and vision for education.

We would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact Caroline Olsen at Academicis on 01223 907979 or 07500889504 or via email at colsen@academicis.co.uk to have a confidential conversation and to find out more about this excellent opportunity.
